The three sources of cash
Your income stream divides across routine mining loops, scheduled map events, and automated offline production:
1. Selling processed stones
Selling cut materials at the sell counter provides your primary continuous cash flow. Unprocessed raw rocks have no direct value and trigger a Nothing to sell message at the counter. Only stones that have finished cutting and have been picked up via the Ready! (E) prompt can be sold. At the terminal, pressing SELL ALL clears your sale inventory in exchange for in-game currency.
2. Timed farm events
The game runs periodic zone events labeled Gold Farm and Rainbow Farm. Timers in the upper interface display the remaining time until each event begins. In recorded gameplay, on-screen banners showed Next Rainbow Farm 1m 27s and Next Gold Farm 4m 39s. Additional observed countdown intervals include readings of 3s, 1m 15s, and 4m 51s. Attending these timed events provides supplementary earnings that boost your bankroll between standard mining runs.
3. Offline machine earnings
The official game description states that "your machines keep cutting while you're away". During recorded gameplay, the lower right HUD displayed a steady readout stating Offline Earnings: 72K/hour. This 72K/hour figure records one player's setup at that moment. The game does not publish a guaranteed baseline rate across all players.
No public source publishes an official cash-per-hour calculation or baseline earnings formula. Because production rates vary depending on active machine tiers, tool efficiency, and room selection, any universal cash-per-hour figure remains unverified.
Upgrade order and the machine bottleneck
Our read is that cutting machines should receive all early investment until processing downtime disappears. The reason comes down to the three-slot backpack.
Mining three rocks in the initial room takes only a few swings with your starter tool. When you bring that haul to the cutting area, the machine displays remaining countdowns observed at 12s, 21s, and 24s. Because you must wait out these timers and collect each stone individually, the cutter acts as a choke point.
If you purchase a pickaxe upgrade while machine timers remain long, you will fill your backpack faster only to stand waiting beside an occupied machine. Upgrading machine speed reduces that wait, allowing you to cycle through loads and sell them quickly. To understand collection mechanics and timer readouts in detail, see our guide on cutting machine mechanics.
The inflection point: when a pickaxe beats a machine
The priority shifts once machine timers drop to the point where cutting completes faster than your mining run.
When you can deposit three rocks, run back to the rock pile, fill your backpack to 3/3, and return just as the machines finish, your tool speed becomes the limiting factor. At this inflection point, investing in a pickaxe reduces the time required to break rocks, accelerating your overall loop.
The official store sells pickaxes for Robux, beginning with the Copper Pickaxe at 70 Robux, the Iron Pickaxe at 80 Robux, and the Golden Pickaxe at 92 Robux, reaching up to 10,720 Robux for the Infinity Reign Pickaxe. In-game cash prices and specific Power ratings for these pickaxes are not published in any official source. You can examine all 41 store tiers in the pickaxe catalog.
Area access and passageway investments
Upgrades are not limited to equipment. Two locked passageways in the early area gate access to better rock tables:
| Passageway | Unlock Cost | Accessible Area | Board Drop Rates |
|---|---|---|---|
| Locked - 100$ | 100$ Cash | Room 2 | Common 50%, Uncommon 50%, Nova Prism 0.1% |
| Locked - 1K$ | 1,000$ Cash | Room 3 | Common 35%, Uncommon 50%, Rare 15%, Nova Prism 0.1% |
Opening Locked - 100$ should happen early, as soon as your initial sales clear 100 dollars. Room 2 introduces Uncommon stones at an equal 50% split with Common rocks, replacing the lower starter ratios.
Opening Locked - 1K$ represents a substantial early purchase. Spend that 1,000 cash on the passage only after your machine timers are shortened enough to handle rapid multi-stone processing. For area layouts and floor structures, consult our guide on floor and room progression.
Decision guide for your first 1,000 cash
When you accumulate 1,000 cash, distribute the funds according to your current queue behavior:
| Scenario | Primary Bottleneck | Recommended Action | Expected Result |
|---|---|---|---|
| Machines still run at 20s+ | Processing queue | Spend cash at the UPGRADE station on machine speed | Cuts waiting time per batch |
| Machines finish before you return | Mining speed | Purchase your next tier pickaxe | Fills 3/3 backpack faster |
| Room 1 rock pool feels slow | Low rarity rates | Unlock the Locked - 100$ passageway | Accesses Room 2 with 50% Uncommon drops |
| Reserve reaches 1,500+ | Floor boundary | Unlock the Locked - 1K$ passageway | Opens Room 3 with 15% Rare drops |
Recovering when your cash balance stalls
If your bankroll stalls and you cannot afford the next upgrade, follow this recovery order:
- Maximize bag loads: Always mine until the bottom bar reads 3/3. Making trips with one or two stones cuts your trip efficiency by more than half.
- Clear stuck cutters: Verify that no machines are showing the
Ready! (E)prompt. An uncollected stone blocks the machine from accepting fresh rocks. - Track event timers: Watch the HUD for Gold Farm and Rainbow Farm countdowns, and position yourself to collect event rewards when timers reach zero.
- Let offline cutting work: If progression feels slow, logging off allows offline machine processing to generate funds until your return.
